Becoming A More Beautiful Version Of Yourself

What You Learn For Microblading Certification

by Alyssa Watson

If you are a cosmetician, you may be looking for certifications that can expand your business. One of the certifications that is becoming increasingly popular is microblading. Microblading is a technique that creates a thicker-looking eyebrow. This process is done by dropping pigment into the skin with the use of a small microblade tool. This is something you could learn on the job, however, you may not learn everything you need for a microblading certification. Here are some of the things you will learn and why they are important.

Skin Reading

Skin reading may sound odd, but it is vital in order to perform proper microblading techniques. Reading the skin can mean several things. The most common part of skin reading is determining if the skin is durable enough for the procedure. The skin also should be checked for allergic reactions, hives, and acne. All of these issues can cause the pigment to look distorted or uneven. If the skin is too dry, it can also cause problems with the pigment holding. By performing a skin reading first, and knowing what to look for during the process, you can better help your client.

Skin Tone Matching

Skin tone plays an important role in the microblading process. For example, you may have a client that wants a solid black eyebrow. If their skin tone is already dark, and you grab a true black shade, you could end up giving them a darker brow than they want. The skin tone can help you determine what shade of a particular color you need and how best to apply it to fill out the brow. You can also determine how the color may soak in and how it may hold up over time, based on the skin tone.

Proper Application Techniques

Depending on what you learn as on-the-job training, you may be learning techniques alongside personal choice. For example, your trainer may be teaching you technique, but may also teach you how they prefer to do things. This may not always be the proper technique or process. When you take a certification course for your microblading, you are ensuring that you are learning the proper methods and not just the personal preferences of the instructor.

If you are considering seeking a microblading certification, contact your local beauty or cosmetic procedure school. They can inform you about the classes you need to take and how long the certification process can be. They can also answer questions about state licensing and testing that should be taken for the certification.
